CAMELOT Biomedical Systems S.r.l. is a consulting company that supports its clients in the digital transformation process, with solutions capable of extracting value from data, based on innovative technologies such as artificial intelligence and blockchain. Thanks to the academic background of the founding partners, especially in the field of Machine Learning, CAMELOT was founded in 2009 and quickly established itself as a provider of innovative solutions compliant with the quality standards required in the medical device sector. Today, the company, which operates in Genoa, Milan, and Pescara, is characterized by highly qualified personnel: out of 40 employees and collaborators, a large part has obtained a PhD in technical-scientific subjects; the data science team has accumulated about 50 years of academic research dedicated to Machine Learning, published over 50 scientific articles and gained 15 years of industrial experience. Quality and Innovation are key factors in CAMELOT’s success. Since 2014, CAMELOT has had a quality management system compliant with ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 13485:2012 standards, incorporating privacy by design and by default principles as necessary in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation. Innovation is guaranteed by ongoing research and development activities; investments exceeding 3 million have led to the development of new technologies in some cases protected by already granted international patents. Thanks to the solutions developed by CAMELOT, end users achieve tangible and easily measurable results: increased customer retention, reduced energy consumption, timely identification of faults and malfunctions. Recent experiences in the Blockchain field with Lombardy Region (one of the first blockchain experiments promoted in Italy by a public administration dates back to 2018) have made CAMELOT a reference partner for the design, development, and adoption of this technology for the Public Administration and beyond, particularly for digital transformation processes. In the following years, further experiments were carried out with Lombardy Region applied to citizen services, business services, and food product traceability; the latest projects concern a large-scale adoption plan based on concepts of reuse, transparency, and efficiency.
