The University of Genoa (commonly called UniGe) is an Italian state university founded in 1481, headquartered in the historic center of Genoa, with detached campuses in various cities of Liguria. Like most of the ancient European universities, the origins of the University of Genoa can be traced back to associations of teachers and students.
